Website Broken Link & Redirect Checker
Discover broken links, HTTP errors and redirects across your website. Identify affected URLs, trace their source pages and review redirect destinations.
WHAT TO KNOW
Identify broken links and unnecessary redirects
Broken links can lead visitors to unavailable pages and create frustrating journeys through your website. Redirected links can also introduce unnecessary steps, especially when internal links point to outdated URLs.
This checker groups affected destinations and identifies the crawled pages linking to them. Review HTTP responses, redirect destinations and links that could not be verified to help prioritise technical SEO improvements.
Website Broken Link & Redirect Checker
Discover broken internal and external links, redirects and destinations that could not be verified. Expand each finding to identify the pages linking to the affected URL.
How to use the Website Broken Link & Redirect Checker
- Enter a website URL. Choose where to begin crawling.
- Select crawl depth. Choose Standard (3) or Extended (5).
- Check website links. The tool discovers links on eligible pages and checks destinations within the published limits.
- Review findings. Filter broken links, redirects and unverified destinations.
- Inspect source pages. Expand a result to see where the affected link was found.
- Export CSV. Download findings for further analysis.
Important: Only discovered and checked URLs appear in the results. This is a limited crawl, not a complete technical SEO audit.
Crawling limits and rules
- 500-request limit: Up to 500 combined internal page crawls and link destination checks per session.
- Shared weekly allowance: Three crawls per rolling seven days per public IP address, shared with the Internal Link Visualiser.
- Administrators: Authenticated administrators have unlimited weekly crawl allowance.
- Destination limit: Unique link checks are separately limited to prevent excessive requests.
- Robots.txt: Internal crawling respects robots.txt restrictions.
- External links: External destinations may be checked, but external websites are not crawled for additional pages.
- Unverified results: Access restrictions, timeouts and rate limits are reported separately from confirmed broken links.
- Coverage: JavaScript-generated links and URLs outside the crawl limits may not be discovered.
Intended for lightweight website analysis rather than comprehensive technical SEO auditing.

Broken Links & Redirects — SEO Tip
Update internal links returning HTTP 404 or 410 so they point to relevant working pages. Where appropriate, replace redirected internal links with their final destination URLs.
Investigate HTTP 403, HTTP 429 and timeouts separately. These do not necessarily indicate broken links.
