SEO TOOL
HTTP Header Inspector
Inspect the HTTP response headers returned by a public website URL. Review caching instructions, redirect responses, crawler directives and selected security headers to support your technical SEO investigations.
WHAT TO KNOW
What HTTP response headers reveal
HTTP headers can provide useful technical information about redirects, caching, content types, security settings and how a server responds to requests.
Header values reflect the response received during the check. They do not by themselves confirm that a website is configured correctly for every visitor or crawler.
TECHNICAL SEO
What HTTP response headers can reveal
HTTP headers provide information about how a server delivers a resource. They can reveal caching instructions, redirect destinations, content types and directives relevant to search engine crawling.
The X-Robots-Tag header may contain indexing instructions, while the Link header can declare relationships such as canonical URLs or alternate versions. Cache-Control, ETag and Last-Modified can help explain caching and revalidation behaviour.
Security-related headers such as Content-Security-Policy and Strict-Transport-Security provide additional information about browser protections, although their presence alone does not establish that a website is secure.
Inspect a website's HTTP response headers
Enter a complete public URL to examine its HTTP response status, redirect chain and selected headers.
The inspection is performed by a remote checking service. Your submitted URL is sent to the Vital SEO server-side function, which requests the destination website.
