Internal Link Equity & Opportunity Analyser
Analyse internal link equity, identify underlinked pages and uncover internal linking opportunities using observed crawl data.
WHAT TO KNOW
Understand internal link equity and opportunities
Review observed incoming and outgoing internal links, estimated relative link equity and opportunities to strengthen connections between relevant pages.
Scores are estimates based on the observed link graph. They are not Google's PageRank and do not represent a complete website audit.
Internal Link Equity & Opportunity Analyser
Analyse observed internal-link relationships, identify underlinked pages and explore estimated link equity.
Local prototype: Website crawling and internal-link analysis are connected for development and testing. This tool has not yet been published.
How to use the Internal Link Equity & Opportunity Analyser
- Enter a website URL. Provide the address of a publicly accessible website you want to analyse.
- Choose crawl depth. Select Standard (depth 3) or Extended (depth 5). Extended crawls can take longer and may discover more pages.
- Run the analysis. Select Analyse Internal Links. The tool crawls permitted pages and examines the internal links it discovers.
- Review the results. Examine the discovered pages, incoming and outgoing internal links, crawl depth and estimated relative link equity.
- Identify opportunities. Look for potentially underlinked pages and relevant opportunities to strengthen internal navigation.
- Export your findings. Download the available CSV results for further review.
Understanding the analysis:
- Incoming links: Discovered internal links pointing to a page from other crawled pages.
- Outgoing links: Discovered links from a page to other pages on the same website.
- Estimated link equity: A relative calculation based on the observed internal-link graph, not Google's PageRank or a measurement of actual search ranking value.
- Opportunities: Suggestions for further investigation, not automatic recommendations to add links without considering relevance and usefulness.
Important: Incomplete crawl coverage, unavailable pages and JavaScript-generated links can affect the results.
Crawling limits and rules
This tool provides a limited analysis of internal links discovered during a website crawl.
- Page limits: Anonymous visitors can attempt up to 200 unique URLs per crawl. Registered Free and Consultancy Client accounts can attempt up to 500. Technical safety limits remain in place.
- Shared 14-day allowance: Anonymous visitors receive 5 applicable crawls per rolling 14 days per public IP address. Registered Free accounts receive 10 per rolling 14 days, shared across users of the account. Consultancy Client allowances are based on individual projects. Safety and processing limits still apply. Applicable crawling tools share the allowance.
- One crawl at a time: Only one crawl can run in the same browser tab.
- Same-origin restriction: Crawling remains within the starting URL's protocol, hostname and port. Cross-origin redirects are not followed.
- Robots.txt: Crawling respects the website's robots.txt restrictions.
- Adaptive crawling: Requests are paced to reduce server load and may slow down or pause in response to errors or rate limits.
- Internal links only: External links do not contribute to the internal-link equity analysis.
- Limited coverage: Blocked, unavailable or unsuccessful pages may be excluded. Standard crawling does not render JavaScript-generated links. JavaScript-rendered crawling is available through Vital SEO's consultancy service.
- Estimated scores: Link counts and equity estimates describe only the observed crawl, not necessarily the entire website or Google's ranking calculations.
Intended for lightweight internal-link analysis, not a comprehensive technical SEO audit.

Page-level Link Power
Link Power is a relative estimate from 0 to 100 based on observed internal-link relationships. It is not Google's PageRank or a direct measure of ranking performance.
| Page URL | Link Power | Rank | Incoming | Outgoing | Crawl depth | Crawl status |
|---|
Internal linking opportunities
Potential opportunities are indicators for manual SEO review, not automatic recommendations to add links.
Internal Linking SEO Tip
Internal linking helps search engines discover pages, understand content relationships and navigate your website. Reviewing internal-link patterns can highlight opportunities to strengthen important pages.
- Underlinked pages: Review valuable pages receiving relatively few observed incoming internal links.
- Estimated link equity: Compare relative scores to identify pages that may benefit from additional relevant internal links.
- Crawl depth: Consider whether important pages require too many internal-link clicks to reach from the starting page.
- Contextual opportunities: Add useful links from relevant content where they genuinely help visitors navigate.
Important: Equity scores are estimates derived from the observed internal-link graph. They are not Google's PageRank. Incomplete crawling, JavaScript-rendered links, link placement and content relevance can affect interpretation.
